1. Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address and authentication identifiers when you create and use an account.
• Profile data (optional): Display name, profile photo, banner image, and bio if you choose to add them.
• Catch and fishing spot data: Information you choose to register, such as catches, photos, fishing spots, timestamps and notes.
• Fishing card files: If you upload fishing cards, files may include PDFs or images (e.g., JPEG/PNG).
• Location data: Used when you request map-based features, weather, tides, or “good conditions” for a selected place.
• Technical data: App/device information (e.g., app version, iOS version) used for troubleshooting and improving stability.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to provide the app’s core functionality, including storing catches, showing your fishing spots on the map, and synchronizing your content securely via Firebase. We do not use your data for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

• Core features: Manage your account, store catches/spots, and display your content in the app.
• Weather and tides: Provide local weather and tide information for selected locations.
• Good conditions: Show local, location-based fishing condition indicators based on available data sources.
• Public Feed and profile visibility: If you publish content in the Feed, other users may view that content and open a public profile view based on what you choose to share.
• Teams & competitions: If you use Fishing Team features, we process membership and competition data to show results and participation.

3. AI / Automated Insights

The App may use AI/automated analysis to provide location-based explanations and insights, such as describing local “good conditions”. There is no AI chat in the App and users cannot send questions, comments, or free-text messages to an AI service.

• AI/automation is used to generate explanations based on available app data and selected locations.
• We recommend you do not include sensitive personal information in any optional text fields in the App.
• Automated insights may be inaccurate and should be used as guidance only.

4. Storage and Security

Data is stored using Firebase with encrypted transfer and secure authentication. Where available, EU locations are used for storage and processing. You can request deletion of your account and related data at any time.

• Firestore: Stores account-related data and app content (e.g., catches, fishing spots, team data).
• Firebase Storage: Stores uploaded files such as photos and fishing card documents.
• Access controls: Access is restricted via authentication and security rules.

5. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we store about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent for location or notifications at any time (through device settings)
• Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet)

6. Data Sharing

FisketipsNorge only shares necessary data with trusted service providers to deliver the App’s core functionality, including:

• Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage) – Account management, data storage and synchronization.
• MET Norway – Weather forecasts for local fishing conditions.
• Kartverket – Tide data (Sehavniva API).

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Deletion and Retention

You may delete content you have created in the App where this functionality is available, and you may request account deletion. We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law.

• Innloggingsdata: E-postadresse og passord dersom du oppretter en konto i appen.

2. Hvordan data brukes

Dataene brukes til å lagre fangster, vise dine registrerte fiskeplasser på kartet og synkronisere oppføringer i skyen (Firebase). Vi bruker ikke dataene dine til markedsføring uten ditt samtykke.

3. Lagring og sikkerhet

Data lagres i Firebase (Google Cloud, EU-region) med sikker autentisering og kryptert overføring (HTTPS). Du kan når som helst be om sletting av konto og tilhørende data.

FisketipsNorge deler kun nødvendige data med betrodde leverandører for å levere appens funksjonalitet:
